Suzi Mirgani is Managing Editor the Center for International and Regional Studies (CIRS), Georgetown University in Qatar. She received PhD and MA degrees in Communication and Media Studies from Eastern Mediterranean University and an MA in Museum and Gallery Practice from UCL Qatar. Mirgani is author of Target Markets: International Terrorism Meets Global Capitalism in the Mall (Transcript Press, 2017); and is coeditor of Bullets and Bulletins: Media and Politics in the Wake of the Arab Uprisings (with Mohamed Zayani, Oxford University Press/Hurst, 2016); and Food Security in the Middle East (co-edited with Zahra Babar, Oxford University Press/Hurst, 2014). She has published in International Feminist Journal of Politics (2007); Journeys Home: An Anthology of Contemporary African Diasporic Experience (2009); and Critical Studies in Media Communication (2011). Mirgani is an independent filmmaker and director of several short films highlighting stories from the Arab world.
