CURA Workshop: The Art of Hearing and Seeing Data

Upcoming CURA Workshop Fall 2019

“The Art of Hearing and Seeing Data: Introduction to Qualitative Research Methods”

with Professor Uday Chandra

Thursday October 10, 2019

12:00 PM – 04:00 PM

CIRS Conference Room

Lunch and coffee breaks will be provided

In this Workshop, students will learn the meaning of “qualitative research methods” and the place of methods in the overall research process. Participants will learn about and, in interactive group activities, practice ethnographic and interviewing technique. By the end of the Workshop, students will be able to explain how different qualitative methodological approaches could be appropriate for tackling their own research projects, whether for a class, a UREP project, or a certificate or Honors thesis. Students at all levels will benefit from this Workshop, especially those currently involved in or considering a UREP project, certificate, or Honors thesis. It is not required to have attended a previous CURA Workshop; however, the material presented by Professor Chandra will complement the skills covered in the previous workshops.
